Parents and Teachers… Phonics Sound Test this is a site which tests basic skills in letter recognition, vowel sounds, and some basic phonics rules. It is excellent for practice and review also. You can test a child by pressing the 
button on the left. You need Real Audio to play this site. Real Audio has options for visuals while you listen. The one apporpriate for most younger students is Annabel the Sheep A sheep will appear to be talking into a microphone. The audio voice will say the letter or letters give the student time to respond and then say the correct sound. The sheep will also change colors, gain a hat, find a friend, and many other fun surprises when you click anywhere on the page. It can be used as a test. The students would have to be very fast with no pauses after the letters are given. To use in everyday life…. I think this would be best used as review, review, review! Many children need more review than can ever be given in school. The adult could pick the test they want the student to practice. The student can be encourage to try….clicking around as they work to maintain interest…. and the benefit would be the repetition they would receive hearing the correct sounds for each letter or letter combination. For the letter recognition tests (preschool and K) students will need to be looking at the site with the letters
